It's all right, Ardbert. Thank you for telling me. I'm sorry for hurting you.
You frequently speak of being the one who wields an axe, as if that's all you were or are, but in a lighthearted way. I had thought it sarcastic; a jab at societal stereotypes. With that context I viewed it as a joke shared between us.
I hadn't considered you would mean it in a different way, but I should have. I apologize.
What I had meant in this conversation was simply:
• magic is controlled using spells • you have had others use spells on you with great frequency
I had thought it an obvious connection and assumed you would realize it after a moment.
I cannot recall my training as a white mage and black mage, so cannot help you remember much of their magic by way of demonstration but I can offer you the notes I have on black and white magic, if you'd like.
I haven't looked through them myself but I know they would be a primer to each magical discipline. A brief history of each, and then the primary concepts. It isn't enough to teach anyone from scratch — just enough to give a foundation that may prompt memories to return. Names may be different than what you're familiar with, but magic is the same from what I can recall.
Aye, it is.
In some ways I'm grateful to have forgotten so much, because I see how much it pains you to be so aware you are missing memories.
I know I'm missing mine, but knowledge is not the same as awareness. The sky is blue, water is wet, and I cannot remember my past. I would give up what little memory I've gained if it meant yours returned to you.
The bond between a man and his bird is a wonderous thing. I'm so very happy you've been reunited.
[It's a while before he replies because he really did go out to take care of his bird.]
I would ask how do amaro get themselves so dirty, but I know my amaro likes dirt baths, and he likes getting brushed even more. Good gods.
[Obviously, he's in a better mood.]
The axe thing was light-hearted but also not. It used to only be light-hearted before everything turned shite. Sorry I couldn't tell you sooner... it really is easier over text.
I thought you might've meant spells by someone else but wasn't sure since you've encouraged me to learn some magic, too. My mind gets muddled sometimes still. The reading material will probably jog my memory.
Lastly, your memories are as important as mine. The gaps might cause me pain but I'd rather have them. It gives me something to fight to remember.
Okay that wasn't the last thing I guess because you're right about a man and his bird. Or a woman and her bird. The one thing we'll never agree on is if amaro or chocobos are better.
Should I see about redesigning the garden to accommodate a sand box for them?
It's all right. There is a reason I text so frequently, and it isn't just the emoticons. 💃
My primers are in my FLUID. You'll know the folder when you see it. The password is 'WildRose'.
There is nothing to agree on! They are both equally good in different ways. Amaro are better fliers and chocobo are better runners. Chocobo are also better comrades to have in the frontlines of war, whilst amaro are better in a supportive role. Chocobo can do magics, and amaro can learn to speak.
I think they are well balanced.
I would like to discuss something else pertaining to sexuality and physiology when you've a moment. There is no rush.
Aye, you're the one that gave me the idea. And thank you. I'll look at the FLUID later.
I suppose you're right, but I love Seto so much it's hard to think chocobos could be better. Gods. He's so GOOD, Era. It's so wonderful to have him back. All I need is a few minutes with him, and I practically forget I was even upset.
I have time. Tho Seto's settling down for a nap while we cuddle, so I might nod off with him.
